Having always been fascinated by the human body and movement, Katrina followed a pathway to a career which allowed her to help people in their journey through the injury process. She has a wide range of skills having completed a Sport Science degree, qualifying as a Personal Trainer and working as a Physiotherapy Assistant before getting her BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy from the University of East London.
She has gained extensive and wide-ranging experience through working with clients from all walks of life, from international level athletes across multiple sports, to end of life cancer patients. She has international experience as a Physiotherapist having worked all over the world, as well as travelling with the Great Britain American Football team across Europe. Katrina has also worked in the Peter MacCallum Cancer Hospital in Melbourne and at two large private practices in New Zealand and Australia.
Katrina has experience in treating a wide spectrum of acute and chronic injuries, both sporting and non-sporting but her special interests are jaw pain/clicking (Temporomandibular Dysfunction, or TMD) and headaches/migraines. She uses a variety of hands-on treatment techniques including massage, manual therapy and dry needling (IMS) to compliment exercises and movement and lifestyle changes. Through this approach she is able to effectively optimise her clients’ function and well-being.
When Katrina is out of the Physiotherapy Clinic you can find her trying to avoid getting injured while practising her favourite hobbies – aerial/circus arts and ballroom dancing!”
